Dream Cruises: Stahlschnitt für erstes "Global Class"-Schiff

Beitrag von Raoul Fiebig »

Hallo allerseits,

Also alles in allem eine sehr positive Entwicklung.

DREAM CRUISES CELEBRATES THE FIRST STEEL CUT FOR GLOBAL CLASS SHIP

With four mega cruise ships, Dream Cruises will offer worldwide itineraries to become
“Asia’s Global Cruise Line” with the youngest fleet in the world

Hong Kong/Wismar, Germany, 9 March 2018 – Genting Hong Kong marked the official start of production on Dream Cruises’ new Global Class cruise ship during a steel cutting ceremony held on 8 March at the MV Werften shipyards in both Wismar and Rostock, Germany.

“After designing the Global Class ships for the last three years and investing over 210 million euros to make MV Werften a state-of-the-art cruise shipbuilding yard, we are very pleased to finally start construction on the first Global Class cruise ship today,” said Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay.

“These ships are not only the largest cruise ships to be built in Germany; they are also the most technologically advanced with artificial intelligence. The Global Class ships mirror the widespread use of technology and artificial intelligence by our Asians guests in their daily lives, with facial and voice recognition for most services onboard, eliminating most queues; contextual marketing to even out demand on ship facilities; automated robots to perform mundane tasks - allowing the hardworking staff to focus on service delivery - along with other artificial intelligent and digital systems. Internet, an essential service for guests to connect on social media, will be free,” he added.

The Global Class ships are designed specifically for the rapidly growing Asian cruise market with popular features such as a Cineplex, theme park, Asian spa, multiple authentic Asian dining experiences, including fast-casual food alternatives, and affordable shopping facilities in addition to luxury retail boutiques.

The Global Class ships will be 342 meters long and 46.40 meters wide with a draft of 9.50 meters. With a capacity of 204,000 gross tons (GT), the ship can accommodate about 5,000 passengers in 2,500 cabins based on a twin share basis. However, the cabins are uniquely designed for the Asian family and can comfortably sleep 2, 3 or 4 persons with split (two) bathrooms, allowing for a wider price point for the Asian market. With total life-saving capacity of up to 9,500 passengers, the Global Class ships can cater for the extremely high peak seasonal holiday periods in Asia. In addition to the usual 28 large elevators, the Global Class will also have eight sets of escalators connecting the public areas, the first cruise ship to have public escalators.

“Dream Cruises is pleased that the Global Class ships are joining the Dream brand”, says Mr. Kent Zhu, President of Genting Cruise Lines. “While originally planned for the Star Cruises family, the benefits of giving scale to Dream Cruises with four of the youngest ships in the world will bolster the Dream Cruises’ expansion plans and global aspirations. However, we are commencing our design for a new class of ships for Star Cruises which will rejuvenate the Star Cruises brand in the coming years.”

“This is a very proud moment for Dream Cruises,” said Mr. Thatcher Brown, President of Dream Cruise. “Building on the successful debuts of Genting Dream in 2016 and World Dream in 2017, the addition of two Global Class ships to the fleet will allow Dream Cruises to offer our partners and guests more itineraries worldwide. Our plans are to have Shanghai and Tianjin as homeports in summer and then, to offer itineraries in Australia, New Zealand, the ASEAN region, and the West coast of the United States in winter. By 2021, there will be about 8 million Asian tourists to Australia and New Zealand annually and Dream cruises will be able to offer an attractive cruise alternative to a land vacation for these Asian visitors. Expanding the Dream Cruises brand “globally” goes hand-in-hand with an aggressive new-build program that will over double our capacity in by 2021.”

Since its launch, Dream Cruises has garnered important industry accolades including being ranked 6th in the Top Ten Large Resort ships by the highly-revered Berlitz Cruising and Cruise Guide 2018, “Best Preferred Cruise Brand for Families” by the Global Times, “Most Popular Cruise Brand” at the 10th TVB Weekly Brand Award 2017 and “Best New Ship” for Genting Dream and “Best Cruise Line – Entertainment” in Travel Weekly Asia Reader's Choice Awards 2017.

Hallo Kieler,

Hallo allerseits,

das erste Schiff der "Global Class" wird... Trommelwirbel... "Global Dream" heißen.

Hier die Genting-PM dazu:
Genting Cruise Lines Announces the Official Name of Dream Cruises’
First 208,000 Gross Ton Global Class Ship at IBTM China

Event also showcases exclusive sneak preview of Global Dream’s smart show cabin and marks the official launch of the Chinese edition of “The Berlitz Cruising and Cruise Ships Guide”

Beijing, 28 August 2019 – Genting Cruise Lines today officially announced the name of her first 208,000 gross ton Global Class ship at IBTM China, the nation’s largest business travel and MICE show, in Beijing. Building on the successful debuts of Genting Dream, World Dream and Explorer Dream, the Global Class vessel -- Global Dream will enter into service in early 2021 to invite even more Asian travellers to sail globally on inspiring voyages on board the largest cruise ship to homeport in the Asia Pacific.

This event also provided guests the chance to experience an exclusive sneak preview of Global Dream through a specially constructed, full-scale smart show cabin on display during the event as well as to officially launch of the Chinese edition of “The Berlitz Cruising and Cruise Ships Guide” - the “bible” of the cruise industry.

Among the guests representing government, travel agents and business partners, notable attendees at the event included Guest of Honour, Mr. Song Yu, Director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Cao Pengcheng, Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Zheng Weihang, Executive Vice President of China Cruise & Yacht Industry Association, who joined Mr. Colin Au, Group President of Genting Hong Kong and Mr. Kent Zhu Fu Ming, President of Genting Cruise Lines for this special occasion.

“Global Dream, the first Global Class ship of Dream Cruises, belongs to a new generation of cruise ships designed for this region featuring the most advanced technology and state-of-the-art facilities. Global Dream will deliver a cutting-edge cruising experience through Artificial Intelligence that will maximize both convenience and speed for our guests on board,” said Mr. Kent Zhu. “To balance the new with the traditional, our guests will also be able to enjoy an authentic Asian experience and our signature heartfelt Asian hospitality on Global Dream, developed through the Genting Group’s over 50 years of experience in the Asian hospitality industry.

During the event, guests were treated to an exclusive sneak preview of Global Dream with the unveiling of a specially constructed balcony show cabin, built in Germany and shipped over for the occasion. Featuring 20 square metres of space, the luxurious Global Class cabins will be the industry’s most spacious staterooms, at approximately 15% larger than standard cabins found on most other cruise lines.

Designed for two guests, the staterooms can also accommodate up to four with a unique two bathroom design to allow several people to get ready at once and a sofa bed that easily unfolds to sleep two comfortably. A thoughtful touch is a privacy curtain that can be closed to divide the room into separate seating and sleeping areas, making the cabins suitable for families and group travellers.

State-of-the-art technology will include Bluetooth locks and a new smart system allowing passengers to control different functions such as the LED mood lighting and climate control with a smartphone app, voice recognition or through a touch-screen control panel. Smart sensors will also be able to detect occupants in the cabin to automatically adjust the lights and temperature for better energy efficiency and triple vent air-conditioning outlets ensure even air distribution for maximum comfort.

The event also served as the official launch of the Chinese edition of the Berlitz Cruising and Cruise Guide 2019. Since the publication of its first edition in 1985, the Berlitz Cruising and Cruise Guide has been meticulously updated every year by cruise expert Douglas Ward, the Guide’s eminent author. The 34th edition of the Berlitz Cruising and Cruise Guide in 2019 contains unbiased reviews and fascinating details on almost 300 ocean-going cruise vessels and grades them on service, food, entertainment and facilities, using an internationally recognised rating system.

“The author is the most feared critic in the business,” said The Times, London and the Berlitz evaluations and ratings – created objectively and independently by the author and his editorial team – have set the standard for the cruise industry and is widely recognized as the bible of the industry.

Global Dream and her sister ship will enter into service in early 2021 and early 2022, joining the current Dream Cruises fleet of three vessels. Both Dream Cruises’ Genting Dream and World Dream have been recognized as two of the top 10 large cruise ships by the Berlitz Guide to Cruising 2019 and are the only two highest-rated cruise ships to be operating in Asia. Dream Cruises’ third ship, Explorer Dream, commenced service this year in Eastern and Northern China and has enjoyed record occupancies. At the end of the year, Explorer Dream will be repositioned to Australia and New Zealand for Asian sourced passengers who are looking to escape the cold northern winter to enjoy summer cruises in the southern hemisphere.

By 2022, Dream Cruises five ship fleet will be the youngest and most modern in the world. As the only global cruise line with all “Made in Germany” cruise ships, Dream Cruises’ fleet will feature the highest safety standards, build quality, speed, power and luxury finishes. Coupled with the Genting Group’s over 50 years of experience in the Asian hospitality industry, Dream Cruises will provide its Asian-sourced guests with the best food, entertainment and service standards on board the finest vessels sailing to all the popular destinations in the world.

The Global Class ships have been designed for the rapidly growing Asian cruise market, which will see the largest increase in the number of middle-income households in the world over the next decade. Innovative new features and facilities on board the ships will include the industry’s most spacious staterooms and most luxurious suites, the first-ever cruise ship theme park featuring the world’s longest roller coaster at sea and the largest cinema at sea with eight theatres to meet the leisure and entertainment needs of travellers and MICE guests. Zouk, the 3rd best club in the world, will also have a presence on Global Dream while Dream Avenue will provide guests with a multi-purpose outdoor leisure and recreational space. The ship will also be equipped with voice and facial recognition technology and self-guided mobile assistants to usher in the future of cruising.

Accommodating up to 9,000 passengers and with lower berth capacity of 4,700 passengers, Global Dream will be the largest cruise ships in the world by passenger capacity and brings affordable, high-end cruising to a wide range of passengers with 2,350 cabins consisting of a variety of categories including villas, penthouses, suites, themed suites, balcony cabins and inside cabins. Global Dream will also feature Dream Cruises’ signature 151-suite luxury “ship-within-a-ship’ concept, “The Palace”.

“Dream Cruises is excited to begin a new chapter in its story when Global Dream begins her journey to take Asian travellers around the world on grand voyages to Australia, New Zealand, the Baltic Sea and the Mediterranean in the future,” added Mr. Zhu. “We invite everyone to come on board to experience our innovative facilities, thoughtful amenities, impeccable service, authentic Chinese cuisine and the largest variety of Asian and International dining at sea.”

Hallo allerseits,

DREAM CRUISES ANNOUNCES THE WORLD’S LONGEST ROLLER COASTER AT SEA ON BOARD THE NEW GLOBAL CLASS SHIP
A centrepiece of the “Dream Park at the Pier”, the first-ever Theme Park at sea and one of the many new attractions available when the ship launches in early 2021

Hong Kong, 11 October 2019 – Dream Cruises, Asia’s Global Cruise Line, will feature the world’s longest roller coaster at sea on board its new Global Class ship which is currently under construction in Germany and slated to debut in early 2021. The “Space Cruiser” will be the highlight of the “Dream Park at the Pier” - first-ever theme park concept at sea that will push the envelope of entertainment and leisure facilities available at sea for discerning cruise passengers looking for unique experiences.

“Dream Cruises is excited to unveil the innovative and exciting “Space Cruiser” on board the newest addition to our fleet, the first Global Class ship named Global Dream, which is set to debut in early 2021,” said Mr. Michael Goh, President of Dream Cruises & Head of International Sales, Genting Cruise Lines. “As part of our commitment to develop the most technologically advanced cruise ships in the world, the newly constructed Global Class ships will dazzle guests with cutting edge features and facilities that will optimize convenience for our passengers and also provide innovative leisure, entertainment and recreation options to appeal to a broad range of guests.”

Dream Cruises has teamed up with Maurer Rides to develop the world's longest roller coaster on a cruise ship with the innovative, interactive “Space Cruiser” on the forthcoming Global Class vessel.

“Outfitted with powerful electric motors and positive-locking drive system, the coaster defies the physical limits experienced by conventional roller coasters, thus allowing acceleration over 1g almost everywhere on the 300-metre track,” said Marco Hartwig, Project Manager, Maurer Rides. “All this guarantees a spectacular and breathtaking ride at up to 60 km/h (37 mph) over the heads of fellow passengers.”

Each of the three Spike carts will provide interactive driving excitement for up to two riders per vehicle with inline seats and an integrated throttle allowing guests to control the speed of the ride. Due to the unusual perspective, the driver of the “Space Cruiser” will have the feeling of flying over the sea.

As part of the ground-breaking “Dream Park at the Pier”, the first-ever theme park at sea on the new Global Class ship, the “Space Cruiser” will be one of the many fun and exciting attractions that will thrill and dazzle guests of all ages while cruising at sea.

With something for everyone, “Dream Park at the Pier” assembles a myriad of attractions including:

· “Bounce Activity Park” – Spread out over the size of a basketball court, this inflatable park isn’t the same old bouncy castles found at kiddie parties. Guests can run, bounce, dance and jump their way around the massive bouncy obstacle course for the ultimate nostalgia trip.
· “Jump!” – Bounce around to your heart’s content in a special trampoline park that will have you jumping for joy!
· “Shark Bay” – Unleash your inner daredevil on our bungee trampoline. Accomplish acrobatic feats while attached to a safety harness for maximum fun.
· “Wipe Out” – Ride the waves at our on board surf simulator. Whether you hang ten or hang out, you’ll have a wet and wild time with your friends.
· “Cosmic Chaos” – Spin, twirl, give it a whirl. Become a human gyro and get ready to tumble.
· “Kranky Kraken” – Kiddies can make friends with our amiable octopus and fly around in one of his many arms.
· “Little Dreamers Ride” – Tiny tots can test their driving skills in our mini karts for some race-car hijinks – all in a safe and controlled environment.
· And much, much more!

Global Dream is designed for the rapidly growing Asian cruise market and will join the Dream Cruises award-winning fleet, allowing Dream Cruises to offer cruise itineraries across the world as “Asia’s Global Cruise Line”. Apart from the theme park, amenities will include a Cineplex, Asian and Western spas, ample shopping facilities as well as authentic Asian and international dining experiences and fast food restaurants. Her 2,500 cabins will be able to accommodate up to 5,000 passengers on a twin share basis and can cater to over 9,000 passengers during peak holiday periods. Global Dream will also feature Dream Cruises’ signature 151-suite luxury “ship-within-a-ship’ concept, “The Palace”.

Hallo allerseits,

Genting Hong Kong hat die Rumpfbemalung der "Global Dream" bekanntgegeben:
Genting Cruise Lines Presents the World Premiere of Dream Cruises’ Global Dream Hull Art at ITB Asia
Also showcasing Global Dream’s smart show cabin with state-of-the-art technology for the first time in Southeast Asia

Singapore, 16 October 2019 – Genting Cruise Lines officially announced the world premiere and unveiling of Global Dream’s brand new hull artwork, entitled “A Dream Through Time and Space” at ITB Asia in Singapore today. Building on the successful debuts of Genting Dream, World Dream and Explorer Dream, Dream Cruises’ new 208,000 gross tonne ship, Global Dream, is currently under construction at Genting Hong Kong’s very own MV Werften shipyard in Germany. Global Dream is set to enter into service in early 2021 and will invite more Asian guests to cruise worldwide on inspiring voyages on board the largest cruise ship to homeport in the Asia Pacific region.

With Global Dream’s sister ship to debut in 2022, Dream Cruises’ five ship fleet will be the youngest and most modern in the world. As the only global cruise line with all “Made in Germany” cruise ships, Dream Cruises’ fleet will feature the highest safety standards, build quality, speed, power and luxury finishes. A testament to Dream Cruises’ quality vessels and exemplary service, the latest edition of the well-respected Berlitz Cruising and Cruise Ships 2020 has again ranked Genting Dream and World Dream in the Top 10 ‘Large Resort Ship’ - the only two highly ranked cruise ships to homeport year-round in Asia. Dream Cruises’ latest addition, Explorer Dream, also made her debut in the Berlitz Cruising and Cruise Ships 2020 guide under the “Mid-Sized Ship” category, earning a Top 20 ranking.

In addition to the unveiling of the hull artwork, guests attending ITB Asia will have the chance to preview and experience Global Dream through a specially constructed, full-scale smart show cabin on display during the event for the very first-time in Southeast Asia, allowing guests to find out more about the outstanding features of the new ship.

Guest of Honour, Mr. Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry & Ministry of Education, Singapore helped preside over the unveiling ceremony along with Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Genting Hong Kong, Mr Hui Lim, Deputy CEO & Executive Director of Genting Hong Kong, Mr. Kent Zhu, President of Genting Cruise Lines and Mr Michael Goh, President of Dream Cruises and Head of International Sales, Genting Cruise Lines.

“Singapore has been an important homeport for Genting Cruise Lines over the last 26 years and we are pleased to announce that Global Dream will celebrate her inaugural arrival in Singapore in Q2 2021 during her relocation cruise from Germany to Asia,” said Mr. Kent Zhu, President of Genting Cruise Lines. “We greatly appreciate and look forward to the continued support from the Singapore Tourism Board and our partners from Singapore and across the region.”

“Having just celebrated our 25th Anniversary in Singapore last year, we are excited to return with the unveiling of Global Dream’s hull artwork at this year’s ITB Asia in Singapore. As arguably the most identifiable feature of a cruise ship, the hull artwork is another important milestone in the development of any cruise ship and will set the personality of the ship when she launches,” added Mr. Zhu. “The new hull artwork provides a fresh take on our beloved mermaid and astronaut characters and captures the adventurous spirit and sense of modernity that will be the hallmarks of Global Dream’s essence.”

Shanghai native and London based Illustrator, Shan Jiang, was commissioned to create the latest chapter of the Dream Cruises hull art romance. Having worked with a variety of notable companies and publications, Mr Shan’s work is strongly influenced by his home city of Shanghai; its skyscrapers and bungalows, contemporary concepts and traditional superstitions and flourishing subcultures

“A Dream Through Time and Space” continues the epic journey of the mermaid and the astronaut as they seek to satisfy their boundless curiosity and explore an infinite universe – driven by the desire for the extraordinary. Embodying the independent and fearless spirit of a new generation of traveller, the two worlds of the mermaid and astronaut blend together, resulting in a new way to explore the seven seas– one that combines age-old maritime tradition with space-age technology.

Guests attending ITB Asia were also among the first in the Southeast Asian region to experience Global Dream’s specially constructed balcony show cabin, which was built in Germany. Featuring 20 square metres of space, the luxurious Global Class cabins will be the industry’s most spacious staterooms at approximately 15% larger than standard cabins found on most other cruise lines.

Global Dream’s cabins will also feature cutting edge, state-of-the-art technology, redefining the concept of cruising with Bluetooth locks and a new smart system, enabling passengers to control different functions such as the LED mood lighting and climate control with a smartphone app, voice recognition or through a touch-screen control panel. Smart sensors will also be able to detect occupants in the cabin to automatically adjust the lights and temperature for better energy efficiency and triple vent air-conditioning outlets ensure even air distribution for maximum comfort.

Accommodating over 9,000 passengers and with lower berth capacity of 4,700 passengers, Global Dream will be the largest cruise ships in the world by passenger capacity and brings affordable, high-end cruising to a wide range of passengers with 2,350 cabins consisting of a variety of categories including villas, penthouses, suites, themed suites, balcony cabins and inside cabins. Global Dream will also feature Dream Cruises’ signature 151-suite luxury “ship-within-a-ship’ concept, “The Palace”.

Featuring a variety of innovative new features and facilities, Global Dream will include the industry’s most spacious staterooms and most luxurious suites, the first-ever theme park concept at sea - “Dream Park at the Pier” highlighted by the “Space Cruiser”, the world’s longest roller coaster at sea – the largest cinema at sea with eight theatres to meet the leisure and entertainment needs of travellers and MICE guests, and more. Singapore’s homegrown and internationally renowned nightlife brand, Zouk, the 3rd best club in the world, will also have a presence on Global Dream while Dream Avenue will provide guests with a multi-purpose outdoor leisure and recreational space.
